Meet Geeta, our Partnerships Support Associate

Our accounting partners are an important part of our journey here at Tide, which is why we have a specialised team dedicated to helping them day in, day out. The Partnerships team have amazing relationships with accountants across the UK, doing everything they can to save them and their clients time with their banking. We’d love for you to meet the people behind the Partnerships team – so here’s Geeta.

👋 Hey Geeta! What’s your background?

I was born in Mombasa, studied in Mombasa, India and the UK, and followed my father’s footsteps into the banking industry. My first job was with Harrods Bank, followed by 31 years at the Royal Bank of Scotland.

What made you want to join Tide?

Having worked in high street banks for over 30 years, I wanted to apply my skills and experience to a modern Fintech organisation. It was a pleasure to move away from the traditional banking work style – Tide’s flexible working hours suit my family life really well.

Typical working day:

My day revolves around speaking with accounting partners, and potential members, to assist with all aspects of the account opening process. I also get involved with projects to support other marketing initiatives such as the Business Show.

What’s your favourite thing about working at Tide?

I love the strong team spirit at Tide. We often collaborate across departments to achieve great results for our projects; I recently worked with our VP of Credit Services on a project to establish what was important to businesses in regards to funding.

What’s the most interesting challenge you’ve came across since you joined Tide?

Having worked for the Royal Bank of Scotland for 31 years in branch banking, adjusting to a paper free Fintech environment has been the most interesting challenge. It’s been a welcome transition!

What’s been your favourite event Tide has been involved in this year?

I really enjoyed the Accountex event at the Excel Centre in May this year. It was a pleasure to meet with so many potential, and existing, accounting partners in person and learn more about their businesses. Events like Accountex really help to strengthen the relationship between us at Tide and our accounting partners.

What are you most excited for this year at Tide?

I am excited to see Tide reach 100,000 members soon!

What’s your hidden talent?

I like experimenting with vegetarian gluten free recipes and seeing what works well. Today I’ve baked a gluten free cake for our #PrideAtTide bake sale! 🍰

When you’re not at Tide, what’s your favourite thing to do?

Family holidays are always enjoyable, and I love hosting dinners for family and friends. Yoga and walking helps me to relax 🧘
